Pattern, Needlework

Object Name:
Pattern, Needlework
Object ID:
1980.502.13
Description:
Needlework pattern, squirrel and birds. Pattern on paper. At bottom edge, five rounded hills and perhaps more where paper missing. On left side, two small rabbits on hill facing right. At center, single branching stem leading upwards for about third of height. Above that level, stem lost, but number of imaginative petals, leaves, blossom, and possible fruit. Design rendered in soft pencil. At bottom, about third of way up, design reinforced with blue pencil. Near center on right side, squirrel sitting upright facing left with something in its paws. At top are two symmetrical birds sitting on branches, facing outward, but heads turned to look inward toward each other. Their outside edges curve around and downward so that along with tail feathers, they create a rough heart shape. Between them, central, simple blossom with round center. In center, "MH" appears superimposed on each other. Around squirrel, some of plant materials look like slightly stylized acorns extending from two small branches.
