- Object Name:
- Pattern, Needlework
- Object ID:
- 1980.502.02 a-b
- Description:
- Embroidery pattern, pencil. Same design as 1980.502.01. Two large pieces of brown paper that match along a center line. Other parts match to the design but are not even if the center line is lined up. The larger piece, 2a, is probably the bottom of the design. Has vertical central line drawn through both large pieces. Both are very large floral patterns. Question if design is a draft, as there are corrections and changes where the two sheets meet. As impression, all design elements in small sheet align artistically with bigger sheet. On bigger sheet (2a) there is a strong horizontal fold mark and 2 vertical fold marks, one along taped edge. Rendered in pencil and pen with numerous additions and alterations. Has been folded in past making creases in paper. .2b does not have accession number on it. It is the smaller piece that matches with .2a. It has pretty much the same artistic description. Rendered in pencil and pen with several alterations and erasures. Labelled central line vertically in pencil which matches up with the .2a, but as mentioned above, the designs are suppose to match up but don't.
Fragment found with above is a design on paper with no accession number. It is a design on paper. Partial floral design rendered in pencil pen. It has some pencil additions VS. alterations. It doesn't match any of the above pattern pieces. Tape residues give evidence that it may have been connected to something else. Drawing similar to other 2 big sheets but no match. - Material:
