- Quilt pattern, "Ocean Wave." Machine-printed figured dark blue and figured red cotton fabrics. Pattern is formed by four intersecting, elongated hexagons on diagonal (non-pieced square on point sits in middle of four hexagons). Hexagons are formed via rectangle (approx. 5.8,") with an outward pointing triangle on each end (angled sides of triangle approx. 4"). Each hexagon has four rows of equal size triangles (figured alternating with "white" fabric simulated via poster board), the first row has three blue/two white triangles. Second row has four red/three white (the exterior red triangles on this row form the flutter wheel pattern when abutted with three other hexagons); third row has three blue/four white, and fourth row has two red/three white. A handwritten pencil "W" is written on the middle poster board square and many triangles. Fabric glued to pencil drawn pattern on discolored off-white poster board. "'Ocean Wave'" handwritten in pencil to left of pattern. Additional handwritten notes (see Notes). First of two patterns (a,b), second on reverse (Object ID 1968.059.018 b).
