Sitter is wearing a hair comb and lace collar; collar, comb, and hair detail added in pencil. Backed with black glossy paper. Unsigned. Paper label with ink inscription on frame's backboard: "Dorothy R. / Ellis born in Andover / July 10, 1806 / died April 3, 1863. Lot number sticker on frame's backboard: "3". Oval stamped brass face mounted on oval wood frame, glazed.
