Watch. Gold. In sweetgrass basket. Key-winder, gold face with Roman numerals in black, minute hand. Blued steel, moon hands. Plain blued-steel second hand in separate dial. Numerals black lacquered. Chapter ring has background of concentric striations. Minute ticks and seconds small polished dots. Band of parallel striations to edge of case, ~0.01" long. Back cover pivoted at ~5:00 on front. Inside of back cover highly polished. Number stamped on inside of back cover: "582[7]". Three numbers scratched into inside of back cover near pivot point: "6445" /7882" / 11176". Inside dust cover with slight sheen to it. Central setting hole and winding hole to side of center. Fancy engraved arrow around winding hole to indicate direction. Several names on dust cover: Top: "M [J] Tobias & Co" Below that in title text: "Liverpool." In script: "Hands" adjacent to central setting hole. Below that: "No 4394". Below that, in all caps: "DETACH'D LEVER". Below that, "13 JEWELS." Dust cover lifts to reveal mechanism with matte gold finish, 1.6". Blued screws, polished steel escapement wheel, a polished steel adjusting lever. On bridge with adjusting lever "FAST SLOW" on opposite edges of bridge. Six bridges. Adjusting screws around edge of balance field. Polished steel escapement and balance wheels. Adjusting screws on perimeter of balance screws.
Engraved landscape with houses, trees, arched bridge, man in small boat on water in foreground. A river landscape with steam boats on back of case, enclosed in scroll border. Small dents in case. Bail plain as well as stem.
