- Hatbox. Oval birchbark box with removable lid. Covered with hair and floral wallpaper in blue and tan on white ground. Hair visible on one side where paper is worn off. Lined with newspaper, including Democratic Republican, c. 1833. Also newspaper on bottom exterior. Paper label on bottom exterior, inscribed in ink, "Stratford / Coos Co. / N.H."
