- Provenance:
- This piece is one of a set of three silver pieces donated by Grace Fletcher Kelley (1852-1935) in 1928 (1928.004). However, Grace Kelley identified the pieces as belonging to her great aunt, Grace Fletcher Webster (1781-1828; first wife of Daniel Webster), but these pieces -- which are engraved L.S.P. and Peirce -- more likely belonged to Grace Fletcher Kelley's mother, Lucilla S. Peirce Kelley (1819-1911).
One of the three pieces in this set has the maker's stamp, Fessenden Brothers, Boston. - Credit Line:
- Gift of Grace Fletcher Kelley
