- Description:
- Wallpaper, two 36" lengths. Fragment. Medallion pattern set off in squares with red lines and diamond corners. Green, white, black and mustard. Design width 18". Horizontal repeat 5.15". Vertical design repeat: mostly 5.2". Alternating medallions in green, white, and black. One style of medallion, red-bordered square with rounded corners inside larger red-delineated squares. Roughly square with rounded corners, rounded protuberances at center of each side. Small white square in center with slightly larger green square around it. Background consists of parallel lines perpendicular to edge. These lead to edge of central design near corners where they do not touch central design but intersect with each other. The other design is circle with rounded, pointed corners. Four white hemispheres inside each corner. Small green dots around inside edge of design. Design sits within a green-edged square with rounded corners. Translucent gray/green background between design and rounded square borders. Behind all of designs, series of about 0.05" wide lines that have similar size blank space adjacent to them. Lines consist of small diagonal segments with space between them and extend from one border of paper to other border. In fact there are 11 pairs of lines and spaces per inch that run entire length of paper. 20 little lines per inch. In some places, diagonal lines printed more evenly than others in regards to the amount of ink on the paper. In total, lines are prominent design feature. Tan background color of paper extends slightly onto back edge of paper at outside edges. On one edge of paper, distance from red border to paper edge: 0.8". Unprinted border: 0.35". Small background lines take up rest of space between red and plain area. About 15.7" apart on this same edge, 5 small rings; 3 have printed color dot in center. One green, one white, one red with a little green mixed in. The other two are empty. Opposite edge of paper, space of 0.6" between red and paper edge. Printed in dark green along this edge: "HOBBS, BENTON, & HEATH." Followed by "714". After that, "W R". At a space of 15.7", another group of 5 rings printed and one additional ring adjacent to first one. First three contain green, white and red dots. Single one contains red and green dot. Second sequence of these circles contains same configuration of dots. All of this printing is over background of narrow and segmented lines. Empty space on edge 0.15" wide with only background color. Overall, some small variations in alignment of design elements in each of the squares.
