- Bayonet; Model 1855 sword type; 21.25" steel blade; 5" brass hilt; semi-spear point ; "728" stamped on flat of hilt; press stud, at back of hilt; brass barrel ring, on top edge of hilt; grooved grip; forward facing upper finial; flattened back edge with false edge near point; mortise stud with guide, at rear of hilt; unstopped fullers, on either side of blade; rounded pommel.
