Description:
Doll, farm woman. Synthetic head. Cloth body. Black painted hair. Possibly mold line above ears and across top of head. Also, line painted in along center of hair over forehead. Curls around forehead on top and around back of head. Slightly-molded ears. Paint delineating edges of hair around face, over ears and around back of neck. Gray line around front edges of hair, but then black paint over hair with places of gaps between gray line and black hair. Black paint not carefully applied. Fine brown lines for eyelashes and fold in top of eyelid. Brown eyelashes across bottom. Dark line over top of eyeball connected to reddish lacrimal caruncle for each eye. White background to eyeball, little circular blue line, white circular line, then dark center, then two little white dots at left side to simulate light reflection. Nostrils painted. Lips painted with fine, red delineation between upper and lower lips. Cheeks slightly rosy-colored. Short neck connected to lower body extending down to sternum, then upward over shoulder, then down in back. Firm cloth body waist. Legs articulated at waist and knee. White pantaloons extending down to 4" above floor. At bottom, 0.7" wide hem. Scalloped embroidery band 0.8" wide, with alternating, simple, fanciful, floral pattern. Repeat ~1" long. Pantaloons extend upward to waist being sewn to band, held by pin. Pantaloons appear to be tightly stretched over doll body around tops of legs. Narrow slit, torn along side seams. Gauze-like material extending down to ~5" from floor level. Stained and torn slightly on front. Gathered at waist, but goes up underneath dress. Doesn't seem pulled down like dress, slip, and skirt all extended downward. Full white slip about 1.5" above floor level. Hem 2.6" wide. Fine white material with slightly-heavier square pattern woven in. Two narrow lines, both vertically and horizontally, with single lines between to create weave. Horizontally, some fine open spots in pattern that repeat ~1' apart. Skirt gathers at waist and attached to band, fastened with straight pin. Over that, purple cloth dress extending down to floor level, with 1.6" hem. Printed white, simple, fanciful, floral design in open-diamond pattern. Repeat ~5" horizontally, vertical rows, also ~5" repeat. Dress extends up to tight collar around neck with tight, full-length sleeves over articulated arms. Long slit in back of dress. Secured with three Mother of Pearl buttons and straight pin. Sleeveless apron, red-and-white checked pattern. About eight repeats to inch on pattern. Little tear in front stitched with white thread. High collar. Hand-sewn hem at bottom. Overlaps on back. Wide, vertical hem at back on both sides. Held together with three, cast-glass, white buttons. Soft, slightly-sculpted feet with black stockings over feet and partly up leg. Crude ribbon around leg stocking. Straight arms, soft, cloth-covered. Flat tabs at ends of arms with sewing in them to mimic hands.
