Doll

Description:
Doll, Gypsy. Synthetic material head. Flesh colors somewhat gray and slightly yellow. Black hair. Short, cylindrical hair shape painted on top of head that might incorporate a comb, but not painted on as such, but is in texture of surface. Two small mounds of hair above eyes and forehead, some hair over ears, short on back, extending to slightly below ears. Dark eyebrows, painted on blue eyes. Worn paint remnants of lips and nostrils. Fixed neck extending to upper torso that ends in middle of arm level on front and slightly lower on back. Bottom edge then raises up and goes over tops of arms on sides. Appears to be kid body near upper torso. Four-strand bead necklace tied at back with red ribbon. Slightly different patterns of clear to slightly-raised beads with darker beads interspersed to strands of necklace. Almost irregular patterns in beads, but seems to be different in each strand. Mesh cap for her shaped hair area; it incorporates purple ribbon and two red bows. Also, bow of multiple pieces of lace at back. Narrow red ribbon associated with this lace bow in back. Kind of a straight shape with flare at hips to kid body. Kid legs down to about knee next to a long, thin tapered leg and junction with long, thin foot that angles to leg. Remnants of painted-on shoe on left foot. Right foot, part of shoe broken off across bottom. Similar to flats. Shoes reddish. Legs same sort of gray with yellow tinge to it. Pantaloons, but with one, textile shattered and slipped down making upper portion of fine, smooth textile with brittle fractures in it. Different material for cylindrical leg, 3.6" long. Its height is lace of fine woven pattern, creating vertical panels. Across bottom edge, 0.7" wide lace work band with geometric, repetitive patterns in it and sewn to bottom hem of pantaloon of leg. Damage on left leg. Pantaloon extends ~2.4" above floor level on right leg. Pantaloon extends up to waist area of body. Next, narrow slip, 5.5" above floor level. Plain, white fabric with hemmed bottom edge, 0.7" wide. Another 0.7" wide band of lace work sewn to bottom of this slip. Slip somewhat dark from age. Seam along back and gathered at waist. Next, another rather full, white slip extending downward, ~3.5" above floor level. Some patterns woven into main body to this slip that appear to be some type of fanciful floral pattern. Damask-like appearance. 0.9" wide band of lace work with scalloped bottom edge to bottom of this. Slip gathers at waist. Some unusual gathers and sewn areas in it and another area where it is sewn to blue dress over it. Blue outer dress with two horizontal black bands around it. Dress somewhat full, ~4" from floor level. Deteriorated areas in black bands. Applied, very-open lacework of white from bottom. Bottom blue area ~1.5" wide. Black band above it ~2" wide. Another horizontal of open lace like material sewn to blue band near its bottom. Rather black band gathered at waist above that. Deteriorated areas in both blue and black. Deteriorated areas all around dress. Appears to have repair attempts which slip underneath sewn to it. Faded blouse with sewn puckers in it above this. Off-the-shoulder top, three-quarter length sleeves, and short apron-like edge, extending over dress. Lace-like band near top. Red ribbon gathered around top edge, culminating in a bow over left shoulder. Shorter red band and bow and top of right sleeve. 0.7" wide green ribbon around waist over blouse. Gold-tone pin with two small, multilobed petals and faceted, dark oval gemstone-appearing piece at top of blouse at front. Gold-tone piece resembling pocket watch, but too large for this doll, adjacent to pin, 0.6" in diameter. Arms extend from above elbow downward. Long and narrow. Separate thumb. Fingers slightly sculpted. Proper shape for their location. Slightly grayish color. Blouse color quite faded and gives hints of having been a purple color.
