- Object Name:

- Object ID:
- 1959.083 i-j
- Description:
- Mold, two halves. Medium gray lead mold for stamping metal foil. Roughly oval shaped. On inside, positive half has a number of small slightly-pointed nodules forming rough tear-drop shape. Nodules roughly 0.3" high; base diameter also 0.3". From small end, roughly rows of 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 3. Rows not perfectly aligned. One row near center has space where another nodule could go. Negative portion of mold reflects same configuration as positive portion. Negative portion has some casting discrepancies where metal did not fill original mold, thus leaving a few gaps on outside surfaces. Positive portion has small casting imperfection on one edge. Possibly some small tool marks on outside of positive half to show where some force possibly was applied to surface to press halves together.
