- Description:
- Surveyor's Chain. Measuring chain of steel with loops at each end of straight pieces, which measure one link (7.92 inches), joined by two small rings between each rod. Small brass tags (9) between each set of ten links. Each successive tag has one additional tooth for the distance it is from the end, with the middle tag (5) being squared off. Large ring at each end of entire chain which measures 100 links or 22 yards (one chain), 4 rods.
