- Description:
- Oil Lamp Wick Holders, Tin Plate. Tapering, sheet-metal tubes with small oval slots near top ends. This pair of tubes are surrounded by cast, threaded adapter. Adapter has slight beveled collar around top edge. Interior is concave with small hole near bottom center. Convex, semi-cylindrical horizontal ridge that runs across center. Tubes extend above that ridge. On sides of adapter is cast-in threaded section. This has flat area on bottom. At center of bottom is slightly raised, cast collar that wraps around wick tubes. Mold line in adapter sides and is slight flashing on sides of wick tube. Description applies to the better example of the two holders. Second holder has been used with soot residues and some dirt in threads.
