- Drawing of "Gilman Genealogy", by unknown artist, c. 1825. Pen and ink and watercolor on paper on linen. Family record of the Gilman Family of Exeter, NH. Lines of small circles connected by ink borders and lines making a branching effect. Written in ink at top left: "About the year 1639 a man by the name / of Gilman (who was a widower) came / from England with three Sons, named / Moses, Edward & John. They first / landed at Hingham, Massachusetts / and continued there until about the / year 1644, when they removed to Exeter." At top right: "John Gilman w-one of the three Sons / mentioned was appointed by the King / a member of the first Council formed / in New Hampshire. He was born / in the year 1623-married June 30 1651 / and died July 24 1708 in the eighty / fifth year of his age". Circles below list family members, creating a genealogy time line. Unsigned.
