Drawing of a Family Record, by Thomas Hackett, 1829. Watercolor and ink on paper. Family record of Stephen Sargent (1773-1859) of Warner, NH, and his wife Betsey Currier (1774-1829). Inscribed in brown ink and decorated with yellow watercolor. Decorated with two birds at top in brown and yellow, and yellow side borders. Lists nine children. Signed at bottom right, "BY / Tho. Hackett / 1829."Text: top line printed "FAMILY RECORD." On the left side below this: "Stephen Sargent". Below this on the left: "Born MARCH 25, 1773". Below this someone wrote in ink: "DIED APRIL 24, 1852". On the right side: "BETSEY CURRIER / BORN DEC. 12, 1774 / DIED MARCH 15, 1829." Next line: "THEY WERE MARRIED JAN. 25, 1801". On the left 2 columns underneath "They were married": On left column: "ABNER BORN / OCT. 7, 1804. / DIED APRIL 20, 1805 /
DANIEL C. BORN OCT 7, 1804 / [no death date] / ABNER BORN / SEPT. 16, 1806. / SALLY R BORN / JUNE 27, 1808. / DIED FEB. 28, 1825. / THOMAS BORN / MAY 8, 1810. / DIED AUG. 1, 1825". Top of column on right: "HANNAH B. / BORN APRIL 5, 1812 / JACOB R. BORN / MAY 26, 1815. THEODATE G. / BORN APRIL 15, 1818. / (died Sept. 15 1868). / ISAAC BORN / DEC. 5, 1820". Below this in a different style of letter but same ink: "By / Tho. Hackett / 1829." Several numerical inscriptions on the reverse, upper right: "69819" stamped; below that in pencil "929.2. / 52458s / Chart ". Matted. Unframed.
