- Description:
- Blanket Chest, six-board style. Pine. Mortise and tenon construction. Lid attached with hand wrought pin hinges. Interior compartment on right with lift up lid which has molded edge. Inside compartment is a key and pen nib marked "GOOD SPEED'S / GOLDEN PEN". Steel or iron lock, missing lock plate. Lid has applied molding on ends only. Interior top edge is beaded. Red wash finish on exterior. Constructed with hand wrought nails. Undiscernable marks on top, some are circular. End boards extend below to form feet. Pointed arch cutout.
