- Picture mirror, framed, with reverse painting on glass. Wooden frame is fully gilded with gold leaf over dark red wash. Pediment top consisting of two layers with circular disk carving in between. 13 acorns attached to pediment on under side. The columns are concave with a spiral turned center. Rectangular blocks above and below the columns. Bottom molding has concave profile. The picture is of a woman sitting under a tree holding some papers. She has a basket on her arm. She has brown curly hair and brown eyes. She is wearing a long white 18th-century-style dress with a red shawl as well as over-the-elbow-length tan gloves. Surrounding the circular image of woman and tree are stylized silver acorns and oak leaves on red background. Colors include white, red, greens, browns, and grays. Backboard is a single slab of wood nailed in with square and round headed nails. The joinery is made with cut nails. All edges of the backboard are beveled. Numerous markings on back. On the top rail appears "CHATHAM PINES" and in a black marker the number "561". Cursively written also at the top is "Mr. (or Mrs.) Stickney". On the backboard itself written in chalk is "$12", and in pencil "For Foster from A.F.S." Also in chalk appears "M. Stickney $12" and the number "561" appears again. Two pieces of stencilled wallpaper with an acorn and oakleaf motif. On one in handwriting the word "Mother" appears. The other has no writing on it. Both pieces are glued on top of what appears to be plaster (perhaps to secure knots in the wood).
