- Sign, framed. Advertisement for Silhouettes Taken By Hammond and Fiske Concord NH, by Hammond & Fiske, c. 1885. Pen and ink and paper on paper. Two sheets of heavy paper. Top sheet of paper has five cut-and-paste silhouettes (3 men and 2 women); upper left, woman, facing right with hair styled on crown of head, wearing a high-collar, buttoned bodice; upper right, woman facing left with hair styled up wearing a high-collar, buttoned bodice; Man in center, facing left, wearing flat-top hat and collared shirt and coat; lower right, man, facing left with long beard wearing a collared shirt and coat; lower right, man, facing left with goatee, wearing a collared coat with tie. On reverse are five different silhouettes (3 men and 2 women). Ink inscription on bottom sheet of paper: "Silhouettes / TAKEN BY / HAMMOND AND FISKE / Studio, 151 NORTH STATE STREET CONCORD / N.H. / ORDERS TAKEN / AT / THIS PLACE / WILL BE AT / A.B. Young's Store / FRIDAY EVENING FROM 7 to 10"; stamped lower right, "HAMMOND & FISKE, / SILHOUETTE ARTISTS, / CONCORD, N.H.". Both pieces framed together. Molded oak frame with interior gilding, glazed.
