- Photograph of portrait of Daniel Webster (1782-1852), unknown artist, original portrait by Albert Gallatin Hoyt (1809-1856). Half-length portrait of a man, facing slightly left; eyes toward viewer. Sitter has receding dark hair, dark eyebrows and eyes. Wearing a black coat with brass buttons, light colored waistcoat, white shirt with tied cravat. Bookcase with books to left and doorway in right background. Photograph includes frame with arch gilded mat with twisted interior molding and foliate vines in the upper left and right spandrels. Pencil inscription on reverse, at top: "A. G. Hoyt Dartmouth College Library / Webster Portrait." Lower left accession number in pencil. Below that is handwritten script: "Carded Photograph". Unframed.
