- Portrait of Benjamin K. Pierce (1790-1850), artist unknown, c. 1825. Oil on panel on aluminum. Half-length oval portrait of a man on a vertical rectangle canvas. Sitter is facing slightly right, looking toward viewer. He has short brown curly hair and blue eyes. He is wearing a black coat and waistcoat, white shirt, and wide black stock. His arms are crossed; three fingers are visible lower left. Red curtain in background; dark brown and blue sky with touches of red. Olive green border; dark brown painted spandrels. Unsigned. Gilded gesso over molded wood frame.
