Rocking Cradle. This rocking cradle is made primarily of pine with some secondary unidentified woods. The exterior is painted and grained with red and black. There is a white stain on the rear exterior of the hood. The interior is painted grey-blue. The hood has an arched roof which has an added flat center board 5.5" wide. There is a valance on the front of the hood that follows the arched shape of the hood. The sides of the hood have a concave cut-out shape. The footboard is also arched. Both the head and foot boards are angled out. The piece appears to be put together with cut nails and screws. There is a single pine bottom board which is rounded. Both rockers have scrolled ends, but there is one end missing on the rocker toward the foot of the cradle. The rockers are attached with large screws from the interior of the cradle down and also supported with glue blocks. They are also painted and grained.
