- Miniature coal cookstove, toy. Cast iron and copper. Four feet. Front casting, two different end castings, and rear casting, bolted together with flat-head, slotted screws. Roughly rectangular top, cast plate, screwed to lower plates with flat-head, slotted screws. At center back, cast piece that extends upward; it holds flue pipe. In front of flue pipe, rectangular cast box that holds warming oven that has two cast sliding doors on front. Cast floral patterns in doors. Door frame screwed to front in which sliding doors are in. Upright piece and a second casting riveted together at ends. Second casting houses back side of flue pipe. It is semi-circular column with fluting on it. Near top of column are two wings with floral decorations cast on back side. Column rests on roughly rectangular plinth that sits on stove top surface. Flue pipe is separate sheet-metal tube that passes upward between front and back castings that rest on top of stove, 1.6" average diameter, as it has been mashed. Front casting that rests on top of stove, intricate floral decorations cast into it. Top plate has chamfered edge that extends downward ~0.6". Series of small decorative notches around perimeter of top piece. Top cooking surface has array of six round holes 0.3" wide x 2" deep; all ~2.25" diameter. Small discs fit into each opening. Each disc has blossom symbol in center and decorative leaves and stems around edge. Small square hole near edge of each disc, used to remove them. Discs rest on small ledges around inside of holes cast into top piece. Some straight decorative lines that connect the six holes. Associated with lines are two faux-slotted screw heads cast into top. At right end, rectangular removable plate with cast floral decorations, 4.5" front to back, 2.3" wide. Shallow cast iron pan under cover. Small thumb indent on right side to aid in lifting cover. Cast rectangular pan with slightly inward-sloping sides; overall depth: 0.9". On front of stove, central, rectangular door, pivoted on right side. Door cast, with some bas-relief floral decorations in casting. Door ~4" high x 6.2" wide. Cutout at upper left corner of door to accommodate another door on front of stove. Cast-in thumb lift on left side of other door. In center of door, oval, flat surface with scalloped edges and ornamental leaves. Horizontal lettering in center of door: "ECLIPSE"; area around letters recessed; letters serif with extra decorative elements in their font. Behind door, chamber with heavy sheet-metal floor and walls. In back of chamber is cast-in notch for flue gasses to escape up flue pipe. On left side, gap at back of vertical wall for gasses from fuel to pass into chamber to go up flue. On right front, decorative panel with fanciful flowers, petals, stems, and perhaps central blossom. Center decoration has four lobes around concentric ring design; front surface of lobes quite smooth with remnants of copper plating or decoration. This side of stove raised up a bit. Only small rectangular pan above space behind front panel. On left side of front of stove is small door in upper left corner; cast with deep, fanciful decorations; oval with some small cut-outs along its edge that slightly mirrors shape of center door's central decoration. This door, ~1.8" high x 2.5" wide. Below lower left corner of door, square-headed shaft that protrudes through front of stove. Door has small pawl behind cast-in thumb lift to supposedly secure door when closed. Square-headed shaft connected to rectangular grate that constitutes floor behind door. Grate runs from front of stove to back, ~3" wide. Grate most likely cast; has number of small slots in it that run from left to right. When square-headed shaft is turned, grate pivots around counter-clockwise. Shaft does not turn clockwise. Grate dumps into space below it. On left end of stove, cast door that pivots on left side. Door ~2.6" high x 4.4" wide; cast fanciful flowers and central oval theme repeated again in slightly different variation. Behind door, blank plate that extends half-way down opening. At bottom of plate, number of rounded teeth. Teeth extend downward and almost reach plane of grate. Below this is empty space ~0.6" high. Cast rib below this door, rounded downward ~0.7". Behind thumb lift right side of door, cast pawl that keeps door shut when engaged. Rectangular void behind and below grate that is accessed by both upper door and rectangular slot below door. Ledge below door curves downward at front. Curvature coincides with perforated piece that rests on a support shelf. This shelf is separate cast piece, ~1.7" high x 7.8" wide; it has apron around outside edge, turned down ~0.6"; it has small notches around outside edge that are decorative and follow same type of decorative pattern as rest of stove. Top surface to apron ~1.25" wide that is flat, cast decorations in it of flowers and geometric shapes. Apron turns upward at stove; two cast pawls that face upward and fit into holes in side of stove where pawls keep piece in place. Rectangular sunken area with rounded corners in center of this attached piece. Sunken piece corresponds with opening in side of stove where spent fuel would be extracted. Separate decorative cast-iron piece that fits over this trough that has flat surface on its side that corresponds with surface of apron. Closer to side, piece roughly 1/4 turned cylinder with rounded ends and cast floral decorations. Six upright oval openings in this piece for ventilation. Small rounded knob in center adjacent to a square hole, 0.26" square. Another square hole below knob on plain flat surface. Smaller square hole about same size as square holes in circular covers on top of stove.
