- Chert Block, black stone core. Fractured surfaces outside. One end black in color and appears to be most recent fractured area. Other outside surfaces, dark brown and dark tan. Some slight polishing from handling. Label information on blue-lined paper, blue script ink: "Part of / axe pointed part broken / off. Black / Chert stone / (silicate). / Woodland -1000 to / 300 yrs old / local".
