- Description:
- Ax head, grooved. Medium gray stone. Shape slightly flattened ovoid. Sides curve slightly to meet slightly curved front edge. At front, blade is ~2.7" wide. A few small chips missing from blade edge. Surfaces taper back to circumferential groove that is ~0.8" wide. At one edge, groove depth 0.34"; at opposite edge, 0.24". Behind the groove, surfaces have round, smooth taper to opposite side. Some boundary layers that run through stone from front to back. Along one more prominent boundary layer, some pitting on what is probably both sides of stone. Small white spot on one side of stone that is perhaps dried paint.
