- Description:
- Gouge stone. Shape long, tapering rectangular. Cross section about 3/4 of tapered cylinder. Slight longitudinal rib bottom surface from middle to near back edge. Deep, longitudinal groove top leading from back all the way to front. Groove becomes wider near front. Bottom and side surface of groove on top, start to taper downward near front. Bottom surfaces also start to taper upward at front. Any determination of actual cutting edge at front due to loss of significant portion of gouge. Outside and inside surfaces all relatively smooth. Overall shape and finish quite refined and well-shaped.
