- Description:
- Grooved ax. Medium gray/tan red stone fragment. Possibly, stone ax head in a rough shape, not finished or broken. In stable resting position, curved edge that could be conceived as beginning of cutting surface. When turned up, so curved edge would be in normal position, rough beginnings of groove on top and bottom surface near what would be back edge. Big chip missing from one side at imagined cutting edge. Some straight line cracks running diagonally through stone on side with some reddish color on surface. Small chip missing along one of these cracks. On opposite side, small L-shaped light-colored inclusion. This side, more of a tan/gray color overall. Couple, very small chips on this side that show reddish color in core material. Around what would probably be back edge area, some more fine-line cracks in stone. A number of small, white spots on surface, appearing to be slightly crushed areas.
