- Description:
- Point, biface, mottled, dark black/brown stone. From top, shape oval with one end of a point and other end tapering slightly to wide tab with slightly-curved back end. Edges relatively smooth with very small undulations. At front, edges curve to point with very tip missing. Width missing area: 0.26". In cross section, flattened oval with sharp edges. Longitudinal cross section flat with sharp taper at back with long gradual taper to front point. Evidence of some napping along edges. Number of grain boundaries in it, also striations in layer and grain boundary. Some patches lighter brown surface effect in some areas near back on both sides Paper tag, pencil printing: "lance point / gray chert / local / 800 yrs. old".
