Point, Stone
- Object Name:
- Point, Stone
- Object ID:
- 1977.509.25
- Description:
- Point, biface. Medium gray stone projectile. Shape irregular. One side roughly triangular with contracting stem and flat base. Other side, ovate with slightly contracting stem and flat base. Edges and surfaces knapped. It could be that this was completely ovate since there is flat edge approximately 1" long where edge is perpendicular to top and bottom planes. Edge surface appears to be due to brittle fracture. Opposite edge and a portion of this side, tapered and fairly straight, knapped surfaces. Stem treatment not symmetrical. Stub of broken point: 0.36" wide. Some boundary lines passing through stone at diagonal angle. Seen on both sides. Slightly glossy surface. Stone almost flat and has small taper at stub and tip ends.
