- Part of a collection of household furnishings from three principal sources: Concord, N.H. ancestors of Arthur F. Sturtevant (1864-1953), donor's father; Ipswich, Mass. family of Florence Sturtevant (1866-1938), donor's step-mother; and Chatham Pines, a vacation camp in Chatham, N.H., owned by the donor from 1940 to 1953. Chatham Pines had previously been owned by Mrs. Pearl Bemis, who collected antiques from the local area which she then used to furnish the cabins at the camp. The donor did not have a clear recollection of which source this teapot came from, but suggested that it was probably not from his father's ancestors, and that it probably was an item found at the camp at Chatham Pines.
Design apparently derived from one of James Dixon and Sons, Sheffield,England - Credit Line:
- Gift of Foster E. Sturtevant
