- Description:
- Canteen. Large elliptical oval tin body manufactured with two sides that have been folded, pressed, and soldered to a middle piece. Tin handle soldered to top of middle piece. Brass spout, soldered to body of canteen with two small lugs on each side of spout. Brass cap has two grooved slots that fit into the lugs of the spout. Cap is stamped on top "PATENT / APR [2] 1861". Thin layer of cork fitted to inside of cap.
