Description:

Chisel. Steel. Iron gouge style. Broad, semi-circular gouge at front edge, 0.5"deep. Outside surface smooth with some hammer marks. Inside surface tapers near front edge to create blade surface. Cutting edge 1.7" wide. Scoop area of chisel about 4.5" long. Chisel then becomes a roughly square cross-section shank with chamfered corners. Back end is turned over in mushroom shape with some cracks and small pieces missing due to being struck heavily. Some striations on sides of shank. Some weld marks on bottom of gouge near where it changes in contour to become shank. Some other hammer marks and irregular chamfering along top edge of gouge.
