- Spelling Table. Allen's Education Table. Mahogany board with routed slots -- 53 vertical slots and three interconnecting horizontal assembly slots. In these tracks are many lower and upper case wooden letters that can be slid from the storage slots to the assembly tracks. They can be assembled to form words or sentences. Printed paper label (very worn) adhered to left edge of face: "[ALL]EN'S / [EDUCATION] TABLES, / [?] and Schools. / [MANUFACTURE]D BY / [EDWIN] ALLEN, / [SOUTH WIND] HAM, CT / [?], 1849."... Printed paper label adhered to back, with instructions and "EDWIN ALLEN, South Windham, CT."
