- Description:
- Trunk, leather and wood, with nameplate of Lewis Downing. Black leather over wood, decorated with brass tacks. Brass plate on front flap, engraved "L. Downing / Concord N.H." in script. Hinged lid with rounded top. Two leather straps with buckles. Leather handle on each end. Lined with printed wallpaper. Tag inside, inscribed "Deposited, 1918, by Miss Gertrude Downing, Concord, N.H."
