- Writing case with ink bottle, pencil, blotter, and 1899 (recto) and1900 (verso) calendar. Several colored blotting papers on writing surface. Two leather pockets on cover. Leather-lined cavity under writing surface. Small rectangular hinged lid, leather-covered compartment. Square compartment on one corner adjacent to hinged lid compartment that has metal covered and metal body inkwell with glass insert. Compressible seal on inside of cover that engages a small paw on side of top surface of ink well. Snap cover decoration is a flattened dome with a number of small curlycue cast around outside edge. On calendar is a trademark rectilinear keystone with "R" in it. On calendar sheet is out line of postal rates for letter, merchandise, transient newspapers, periodicals and magazines, and books and other printed matter. Domestic money order fees, postal rates for Canada, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. foreign country rates. internation postcard and newspaper rates and international money order fees.
