- Object Name:
- Chalkboard
- Object ID:

- Description:
- Pair of slates, wood frame, with textile. Joined at corners. Numerous holes around outside edge of boards. Reddish textile band around outside edges that is held in place by a brown cord threaded through holes and wrapped around. The two long edges are wrapped together so boards can be folded together in either direction. Lightly stamped red figures of cats, dogs, cows, swans, male and female human heads around edges facing inward. Opposite side has red tick marks around outside edges spaced roughly every quarter inch. Outside of tick marks are small red simple floral symbols. The other board is marked same way with tick marks on one side and figures on the other. These are sewn together so that the symbols are present on both sides. Scribed lines on surfaces on surfaces of chalk board roughly coincide with tick marks but were probably done later.
