- Description:
- Lamp, oil, tin. Cylindrical steel reservoir with rounded shoulders joined at standing horizontal seam around middle that is soldered. Threaded collar at top that holds burner unit. Two hollow caps soldered to sides of reservoir above seam that are perforated and hold ends of wire yoke. Ends of yoke fit into a hole in a slightly domed sheet-metal cap that is soldered into end of sheet-metal cylinder. This cylinder has soldered lap joint. Raised seam near top of cylinder that holds a convex insert inside cylinder. Yoke is worn so it does not turn very freely inside handle adapter. Top edges of handle adapter are splayed and cracked. Burner unit holds a large wick that is made up of smaller fibrous bundles that fit into reservoir.
