Arm has vertical pin that fits into hole in decorative mounting bracket. Some stylized flowers, stems, curlicues, and other decorations in supporting cup and wall-mounting plate. Brass plating that deteriorated and perhaps worn off in a few small spots which makes it irregularly tarnished. Cast letter "E" on inside bottom surface of bowl which is riveted to supporting arm at its center. Small hole in bottom of bowl where casting did not fill in space. On one side of arm near pivot pin is cast: "AFD June / 1881". Mounting bracket is rectangular, slight pyramid shape with vertical slot in center that has cast cylindrical holder in center. Stylized floral decorations around edges and two mounting holes in decorative tabs at top and bottom. Cast into back of plate on one side in raised letters: "PATENT, / FEB 2, 1875".
