- Cane. Cylindrical, dark wood, metal ferrule and gold handle. Gold L-shaped handle with floral motif engraved on it. "Presented / to / Col. Frank H. Pierce / by the / Pierce Guards / Nov. 17 1876" engraved on handle. Finial at end, steel insert, overall length: 1.4". Brass with nickel plating by pin. Decorative line around center of it. Brass portion: 1.5" long.
