Description:

Wheel spoke. Medium-brown hardwood. Rectangular tenon at one end. Tenon 1.3" long, 1.4" width, 0.6" thick. Two broad sides butt up against raised surface. At top, surface extends towards other end of spoke. Narrows down, then transitions into oval cross section. At opposite end, it transitions into round cylinder, 1.5" long, 0.7" diameter. Flat surface at transition between oval and round. End of cylinder flat. Spoke bent about 0.3" away from being straight. That is with oval cross section with narrow edges at top and bottom. Mortise fits into right three holes of gauge (1965.031a) for thickness but very far off for length of mortise. Fit reasonably tight for thickness, but length not close. Fully fits into two holes at other end of gauge since gauge is distorted.
