- Pestle. Dark gray stone. Shape extended rectangle, beveled ends leading to slightly round tip at one end and small flattened tip at opposite end. Stone relatively flat with many small undulations. One "flat" side, slightly concave areas. Opposite side, slightly convex. Edges irregularly rounded. Boundary layers running length of stone near center, creating unusual tip shapes. Layering has influenced overall finished shape of artifact. Surface color combination of medium and darker gray. Some of lighter gray may be due to abrasion.
