Provenance:
Clock made by Enoch Hoyt Nutter (1800-1880), Dover, NH. Clock was gifted to Charles Parsons in 1955 by Bob Leeson, President of the Universal Winding Co. (textile equipment manufacturer), Providence, RI, as a "small token of our sincere appreciation of the wonderful assistance" that Parsons provided while testing equipment. The Nutter clock (a) and Nutter spoon (b) are part of a large clock collection (and related materials) including not only clocks made in N.H., but also several made elsewhere, acquired in N.H. by the donor (Charles S. Parsons, 1904-1988) and probably used here.
