- Portrait of Jeremiah F. Daniell (1800-1871), attributed to George G. Hartwell (1815-1901), 1851. Oil on canvas. Bust-length portrait of a man, facing slightly left; eyes toward viewer. Sitter has short black hair that curls over ears, and short sideburns; gray eyes. Wearing a black coat, black waistcoat, white shirt with high collar and pleated shirt front, and black stock with bow. Gold chain and fob on waistcoat. Purple patterned curtain in background with green-brown wall at left. Sitter's left hand is visible lower center holding a copy of Boston Post newspaper dated June 20, 1851. Unsigned. Modern molded gilded frame.
