- Description:
- Case, card, with velvet, paper, metal (possibly brass), and glass mirror. Resembles bound book. Simulated page edges are in gold color with parallel striations. Overall cover material, reddish-brown, velvet with very short pile. Embossed paper edges on front and back cover with worn gold tone. Also, two strips of edging material at back edge of covers. Hinged cover has short, tan paper lip around three sides that fit into the tan-lined paper box that simulates text block. Cover edges fairly stiff, so base of cover may be a non-ferrous sheet metal. A small rectangular mirror inside cover. Gold tone embossed paper strips around mirror's edges. Embossed decorative paper on edge of binding and small embossed blossom in center of cover on outside surface. Paper label on mirror, red writing, "Noyes / 10/22/57". Tag with accession number: "Noyes, Coll".
