- Description:
- Card case, celluloid. Nickel-silver alloyed. Silver, brass, ivory, wood, and paper. Flat rectangular box, slightly curved or slightly beveled around edges of flat sides. Edges slightly curved. Four-knuckle hinge holding cover at one end of box. Strips of ivory around edge of interior opening on cover and body. Push-button metal clasp at top of edge opposite hinge. Interior slot: 2.3" long, 0.2" wide. Inside of slot and inside of body, lined with textured red paper. In body slot: 2.7" deep. Cover: 6.5" deep. At top, surfaces translucent, brown in broad areas to roughly simulate tortoise shell. Ivory edges of bottom and top, exposed on sides as part of design of case.
