- Case, card , silver-colored, alloy. Roughly rectangular in shape. Corners rounded. Small peaks in center of each side where edges are slightly bowed. Front and back surfaces, slightly concave, which may be due to inherent weakness of construction. Edges are fine, circular filigree. Circles in rows of 5 around edge. Fine, solid, right-angle edge on both sides at the perimeters. Flat sides, have fine, filigree pattern that is plural, made from thin, flat wire, bent and soldered together to create the fanciful, floral decoration. In center of both sides, solid area with a shape that parallels outside edge. In it, design of fanciful flowers in top and bottom sections. Top section pulls off from case. It reveals a filigree, rectangular lip with some symmetrical, slightly circular pattern. Walls of inside lip are all filigree as well. Cover piece stays on with friction fit over base. Small, plain, rectangular area very top of cover: 0.64" long, 0.23" wide. Remnant of paper label inside cover. "M.H. Jewell". Accession tag reads: "Jewell coll."
