- Description:
- Box, snuff. Kidney-shaped, silver. Shallow lid fits over lip around top edge of bottom section. Seven-knuckle hinge on back surface. Inside of box is roughly finished. Top and bottom surfaces slightly domed. Corrosion on bottom due to fingerprints. Small rounded groove followed by half-round raised area then small, fine raised rib adjacent to bottom surface that goes around perimeter of box on bottom section. Top surface has fine groove around edge. Top edge flares out a little, then wider groove underneath round edge. Paper label on bottom: "M. H. Jewell / Loan for 1942". Monogrammed small initials "MHJ" on top cover at very front edge.
