Spike bed 5.1" wide, 3.2" deep, 7 rows of spikes, alternating of 11 and 10, with 4 11s and 3 10s, 74 total. Spikes square in cross-section, about 0.18". Tapered to a sharp end. Aligned with edge of square running front to back on base to increase strength. Front of base deeply beveled. Sides chamfered, top and bottom. Edges chamfered throughout on top and bottom. Spikes angled backwards, about 15 degrees. Ends of spikes protrude slightly from bottom surface of base. Spikes irregular in their cross-sections where they protrude to show they were shorn off, but not evenly. They create a slightly-rough surface on bottom section. At end of handle, section roughly 5.3" diameter. Two holes side-by-side vertically through this section. About 0.65" diameter. Center point to center point about 2.8". Two concentric circles lightly scribed on top surface of handle end. A number punched into surface near top edge: "1787". Above it "6" punched into it. Near juncture of round section and tapered handle section, other numbers punched into top surface. Random and some worn with a little bit of wood lamination to obscure what was there. On bottom surface of round section, a little bit of remnant of guideline for shaping of this end. Red "FP47" on bottom of spike base. Little bit of adhesive tape remnant also on bottom of spike base. Off-white in color.
