- Road sign. Horizontal rectangle of gray sheet iron with plain edges. Iron letters with rounded edges riveted on, reading "FARMINGTON" in capitals, and then slightly lower at the end, "12 M" beneath a hand with finger pointing to right. Four holes at edges near center for mounting.

- Provenance:
- Sign used on the present Route 28 in Barnstead, NH, before the road was marked with stripes. Donor rescued this and three similar signs from the ditch before World War II. She states that they date from the days of horse-drawn road scrapers.
