- Description:
- Wrought iron strap hinge. Hinge eye folded over and welded. Strap fairly straight with slight taper leading to slightly rounded diamond shape. Strap thickness tapers from 0.46" from hinge to 0.16" at decorative end. Thickness before decoration: 0.2". Six wrought nails sticking through strap; rusted in place. Fairly large flattened ends on front surface of strap. Longest nail remnant provides overall depth including strap of about 1.8". Four of nails about 1" long; the other two are 0.33". Eight holes in strap with first and eighth hole empty. Eight hole is in center, of decorative diamond shape. Head of seventh nail missing from front. Second, third, and fourth holes staggered from central line. Other holes approximately centered on strap. No marked wear on top or bottom surface of hinge.
